This is worth watching to the end.

Tauranga Historic Village
With time to kill on a Sunday afternoon I checked out the village.
It was a ghost town! All doors closed.
Nothing on. So I took a walk around.
This place has so much potential. My first though was that if this was in Nelson it would be a happening place.
Maybe I need to go back when its open.
This work is amazing
Cute....

From The Old Album
The picnic
Love the car..
Me, Mum (Pauline), Nana (Mums mother, Agnes Leohnora Reed).
Circa 1954/55
Nana was a tough women. Would not take any BS from anyone. I think it shows don't you? Smoked like an old fashioned factory chimney. Still lived to 77!
Note that Leohnora is not a spelling mistake. Very unusual way to spell Nana's name.
Interesting her headstone is misspelt as Leonora.

Circa 1956/57.
From the left, Mike, Lyn (aka Gidge) Whilma (Ruruaku) with Ken.
I think this was taken down at Tahuna beach.

Ken
This is dad 40 years prior to the photo shown in the previous post.
Not sure but this may have been before he went to North Africa and Italy serving in the army.

Weekend Snaps
Jay and I went to check out the waterfall up at McLaren Park.
Its a short walk through some nice NZ bush alongside a stream.
We plan to go back in the dark because there are glow worms up in the area apparently.
We made it..
Jay on the bridge heading back. Lots of path gravel ended up in the stream thrown by guess who..
This is his 'cave tree'
Then we went to the pub. This is Lewis (now sometimes known as Bruce) with uncle Ken
Hmm, check out the heads..

High Seas At The Mount
This is coming up over the exposed face of the sand dunes that were about 1 meter high.
We had to literally scramble up to get out of the way.
Some serious erosion after this storm
Then it would surge well out
On the main beach. Guess who got wet...
Not Between The Flags
A big sea running at the Mount today with lots of rips and wave directions.
This gentleman with 5 small children right out on the sand.
Then....
No wonder people get into trouble.

Rob Gets Into It
At the Taupo NZDA rifle range. Rob sets up to the far targets against the cliff.
This is a great range. A little short but easy access and not busy.
With her nice little Ruger 77/17HMR
This is the result at 100 meters!
A great effort for first time out and regardless, its good anyway.
All The Rats
Some random phone shots over the past few days with the grandkids
Thomas in the pool with his 'good friend'. Oh and still recovering from arm surgery.
Cheers. Jay with Pop out in the sun
Grace and Lewis. Both great kids.
